I’ve got GJI goggles v1. Rooted, WTFOS’d, if got my osd sorted.
Now I want the fancy fonts… can i just down the files from the likes of Sneaky or do I need the complicated FakeHD situation?
Thanks… again!

Have a look at this
I followed Joshua Bardwells video guidance to root and get HD fonts on DJI FPV goggles
.
there was no complicaiton with FAKEHD for me.
SneakyFPV worked fine just shoving the 4 files on the SD card. I use V2, but I believe V1 fine. Best with BF 4.4 or above though. Quite simple and works. Also fortunately with DJI being slow you don’t have to update your goggles and VTX’s every other day like other HD systems!
Now there’s another point… how i do i upgrade from 4.3 to 4.4?
The simple answer to this is to flash the firmware of your drone’s flight controller to the newest version, currently 4.4 is the newest. If you just updated your goggles they’ll be fine for firmware updates.
Watch a video or read a website about this as you’ll want to take a backup of your firmware and settings prior to making any changes. This should allow the process to be reversable.
I would say though that Betaflight can make or break drones, if the drone is working fine, then i would just stick with it. Not every setting in Betaflight should be changed and there are as many way to fix and improve performance as there are to make things worse. The above will give you a base to return to if you need it but you want to know what you are doing first.
Hmmm I see… I think think i
I might just stick with 4.3!
You can get 4.3 to with with wtfos, just bit the bullet and went for 4.4 on all mine.
Had any luck. Fortunately you can just use them without the WTFOS stuff just fine. I’d Google around for WTFOS on 4.3 and check those links.
You could always(and should anyways) backup your config, Try 4.4. If not running well roll back to 4.3, making sure you can find the 4.3 firmware for your FC
I know this is and old thread, but I really struggling loading WTFOS fonts on to my V2 goggles via Sd card. Iv had them on there before but made the school boy error of formatting the sd card
Iv tried a number of differant ones with no joy, what makes it annoying is everyone says how easy it is, clearly not. I just have a coulpe of questions, does it have to be 4 files as iv downloaded a few fonts that are only 2 ??.
Not sure if it makes a differance but my card only has 1 file in the root ?? Iv tried formatting the card in my goggles as I noticed it say No Sd card in the top left handside, cant remember seeing this before???.
Your font names are wrong:
You’ve probably got the extensions hidden BTW, so don’t add .bin, as they’ll be .bin.bin (display your extensions too)
Iv managed to get the my drones up and running, but having took the vista out of the wing I can now see the red lights not going green which im sure is the diode … The below is what works on all my drones apart from 1 ?? yep there is always 1… I think this is due to loosing it last week and when I found it you could of cooked eggs on the vista …
What do you power the vistas from? How you keep blowing em up?! I tend to use the 9 or 12V from the FC and always have a capacitor from the battery onto the ESC. Don’t direct power from battery
No like I said I losted my wing last weekend I had to crash land it due to the vista over heating, but it cut out just before it crashed and it took me 2 hours to find it so I think thats whats knacked the vista…
I have a few spare so fingers crossed I can swop the bottom board out
It’s worst first testing and then using the RTH of it. If you lose video (as I did once in Wigan) it can fly back and loiter over your head. The. Learn how to fly and land in angle mode (this is the thing I need to do more of, as in Wigan I tried to land in acro… Not good ending)
Well it was the vista and as luck might have it I had another one I didn’t know I had… further more I soldered it in turned it on and up popped INAV OSD ……boom …
So fingers crossed for the weather tomorrow
