DJI pro controller with Mini 3 Pro

Been flying the Mini 3 Pro just over a year now, perfectly happy with it, however with the M4P now out, seems it can do a few more things which I doubt will come to the M3P, like waypoints etc. So was thinking about the pro controller, however with the M4P using ocusync 4, I imagine any future DJI mini will be the same. So would the pro controller be a wise move? Not sure it would be compatible with the 4 and future drones, unless it could be a firmware update, but I think it’s more hardware than software! As it’s a similar price to the M4P not sure it’s going to be a viable purchase? Any thoughts appreciated thanks.

I just did exactly that. My Mini 3 pro with the rc kept losing signal at 200 mtrs or so. I was so incensed at the failure I just bought the RC Pro. My problem is fixed and I have a controller I can use going forward with other drones. Its a fantastic piece of kit. Expensive? yes but you get what you pay for.

Hi @We11ington, it looks as though you’re quite new here :wave:t2:

Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself. :+1:t2:

I am not sure if the RC pro will be made compatible with the m4p… it is not yet compatible with the Mavic air 3 (which the DJI goggles 2 + RC motion controller 2 have been updated too)

DJI may come out with an RC pro 2 controller soon … who knows!

I was looking again at waypoints today as I use my m3p for building surveys, and I’ve been waiting for litchi (pilot) to provide some useful waypoint planning… but it’s not happening very quickly…

I stumbled across dronelink which for ~$100 will probably provide what I’m after … which is the ability to use waypoints vertically for a facade.

Think I’ll stick with the RC controller and see what happens in the next year.
