DJI RC PRO (installing DJI FLY and DJI Pilot 2.... how?)

as per the title, has anyone managed to install both DJI fly AND Dji Pilot 2 (for the enterprise drones) on the same DJI RC Pro controller.

this is the non-enterprise controller but I believe there is no difference between them except one has DJI Fly and the other DJI Pilot 2…

I have tried to install DjI Fly onto the RC Pro enterprise controller and the Dji Fly app stops late in the install process and says something to the effect of “App not installed”

I now have tried the reverse on a DJI RC Pro (non-enterprise controller) that had the DJI Fly app and guess what… it won’t allow the dji pilot 2 app to be installed with the same message at the same late stage of the install process “App not installed”

open to suggestions… is there a way to side load the apk and force it’s install / extract the apk (which is just a rar) and populate the right folders with the right contents and create the symbolic links … (I’m better than average at linux, but not an android dabbler).

DJI RC Pro is compatible with DJI Mavic 3, DJI Mavic 3 Cine and DJI Air 2S.

https://www.dji.com/uk/rc-pro/faq

yes, but that is not quite right as the same controller is use for the Mavic 3 Enterprise 3E, 3T and 3M drones too via the dji pilot 2 app.

Controller model RM510B = the RC pro Enterprise and the RC Pro = RM510.

I’ve seen it done on a couple of yourtube clips, but not how they did it.

On the Enterprise version of the RC Pro, this might be because of the same reason we couldn’t install multiple versions of GO4 on the old DJI GL300E controller and the CrystalSky too?

Years ago we used to rename the Android package name when rolling a custom version of GO4 so the OS thought it was a DJI Pilot app, which then let you side load it alongside the existing GO4 app.

I wonder if the Fly app package name (note: the package name, not the apk filename) needs changing at the point of you compiling it, so the OS sees it as a different app at the point of installation?

Possibly of interest:

Hello Robert
Did you manage to solve the problem of the incompatibility of installing the DJI fly and Dji Pilot 2 apps simultaneously on the RC Pro (Enterprise)? I have the same problem and I can’t find a solution to use the mini 3 pro and the M3E with the same control.
Regards
Carlos

in a word no.

the way that I thought about doing it was repackaging the app and renaming the application as there is a file within the apk that looks for the install of the other programme and then refuses to install the one you are trying to install over the top / side by side.

in the end I went with a Matrice 4E, so no need as that uses an O4 controller. I still have my O3 DJI RC Pro, and I’m happy to try to help if you want to have a go at it.
