I’ve been trying to unlock a blue zone over an old military dump.
I’ve tried numerous times to log into DJI account to unlock the zone.
Following the prompt to locate on their map I’m not able to select the site with an x to get the unlocking settings.
In the past it was easy, add a marker on the zone , fill in your details and remote serial number and few minutes later it was unlocked.
Now I’m getting a totally new process that’s just not working at all.
Is anyone else having the same problem?
DJI
Are you doing it from https://fly-safe.dji.com/unlock/unlock-request rather than https://www.dji.com/uk/flysafe/geo-map ?
Either, first one I’m not familiar with at all. Second site was my go to page before now it’s not working properly, loads up and I can search the map but nothing more
And what happens when you click on the massive blue button in the middle?
Just highlighted the area I’m looking at……but
Just managed to unlock the area from my PC and not through iPad as I could before.
A lengthy process of adding all my flight controller numbers into dji database and then now just select the area on a different map and write an excuse to be granted an unlock….
Was getting worried as planning on doing my GVC this year and without it unlocking I’m dead in the water.
Do you know of anyone else having this problem?
Biggest problem that DJI users face ;o)
Sorry @Dren I don’t know what the issue is, my screen shot above was from my iPad
I’m not that familiar with DJI unlocks (the benefits of modded firmware) but don’t the DJI blue zones mean you can just self-unlock / self-authorise in the app at the point of taking off? And you don’t need to get permission from DJI to fly your drone?
(Or is that only their yellow zones? )
Some are yes. But if they’re for specific areas like football stadiums they prevent you flying in or from. When I did the nhs event in 2020 from Northampton stadium I needed to unlock drone to fly from within its blue zone.
I’ve run modded apk software before on my Spark, brilliant but unfortunately my M2P can’t be backdated to run the NLD software, I’ve upgraded the range and tweaked the controllers settings, but with the NFZ mods I think if your unlocking that you’ve got good intentions of flying deliberately where you shouldn’t be.
Admittedly my Spark was unlocked and yes it did make accessing NFZ easier, it also had phenomenal range, but it’s 8min flight time was diabolical. Thanks for your help mate
Or you’re trying to fly a drone that you own in perfectly legitimate airspace instead of whatever the fuck this circle is that DJI say you can’t fly in
Anyway, staying on topic…
Any ideas why that first link I shared doesn’t work on your iPad @Dren but does work on my iPad?
I was using Safari btw, in case that makes a difference?
I can’t remember if I did via my phone before or this iPad. I’m on safari too. It just worked easier before. At least DJI now have my remote serials to speed up the unlocking process, I’ll do it more often now so it comes natural
Tried on my iPhone on safari and firefox, both will only work in landscape orientation, in portrait you cant access the right of the screen
Also tried on my Andriod tablet with chrome and PC and both work fine
I think my iPad update is flawed. It’s working from pc. Though today even though it was unlocked by DJi on pc still needed to complete it online to fly. As I mentioned I need to practice more before doing my GVC this year
