DJI Tracking - Mountain Bike

Yesterday I took the Neo out to Cannock Chase for what I would call its first real flight. I have tried to fly it once before but it had a mind of its own and crashed into the snow after a few mins in the air.

Got brave and used the AI tracking on it to follow me around for a bit. I did not go too fast as I was still learning how this thing behaves but WOW its impressive. In the tree’s it did really well and at one point it hit 11km/hr.
Think its safe to say the little Neo is quite confident flying itself. More so than myself on a bike haha.

Here is an overlay of the bike v the Neo

This is out in the open -

Done is in yellow - bike is in red

Interesting in the forest section the GPS on the drone didn’t record much activity

Without the bike track

It’s a Specilized Turbo Levo Alloy EMTB - more a bike than I will ever be able to max out that’s for sure.

It’s a bit of a beast but man I love it - could ride it every day given the time and weather to do so.

Merhino lined clothes

I cycled in all weathers, everyday. 25 miles a day midweek, 60 or 70 on a Saturday or sunday, well i do need one rest day.

Yeah I am quite a fair weather sort of guy and I do need time for my other expensive hobbies too haha time anyone selling time haha

It does look like a beast! I put road tyres on my mountain bike a few years ago and as i got more use out of it that way. Ive not been up cannock chase since i was a kid.

Oh it is a beast - not a fan of riding on the road so this is my happy place and I also live a few miles away from Hicks Lodge ( its very basic for Mountain Biking but good fun to just get out )

Do love Cannock Chase - so much to offer - walk - run - ride - fly - such a great place - wish I lived closer to it.

Hi @LE60LAD , My sole reason for buying a NEO was to follow my bike rides. I enjoyed your video as it showed me what’s possible. I have to wait until March before I try it out though. For now I’m happy flying it with the RC3.

Hi Mike,

This is only a small bit of what I am sure this little marvel can do. I only did an orbit and the follow me options as it was very very cold and the less riding I was doing the colder I was feeling haha.

I do need to work out how to get it to fly side on and fly backwards as I am sure it will do that too so as to add another dimension to the flying and story telling.

I also need to see how fast I can go before it loses track with me. Know DC Rainmaker did a good video about how the firmware update has improved the active track speed

The tracking though the tree’s is just mind blowing to be honest - I was sure it was going to crash at this point.

@LE60LAD , Yes I’ve only done a few flights myself.
My first circle didn’t go quite to plan though. It was on a sloping field of wet grass. It did the circle ok, but came within an inch of the ground. I have mowers that don’t cut so close. When it finally came back, it stopped 3ft above my reach.
Had to wait for the battery to run out, which fortunately being a Neo wasn’t that long to wait. :unamused:

I know I should not laugh at that but wow thats a bit crazy

My very first flight with it was with the controller and it went mental so I was a bit tentative with this flight but all good in the end.
