I’d love to try this, but have had issues in the past with things that go over glasses. Also, as I understand it it would mean I had to have a “spotter” with me at all times. That makes it a level of fuss I’m not interested in getting in to.
Each to their own. It works for me
Absolutely, glad it works for you, bet it’s a great experience.
It is much easier for me. I don’t use it every time but when the sun is high it’s ideal.
I use a Matt screen protector film on mine and I’ve never had a problem even in full sun , I’ve tried hoods before but never had any success
Currently, I’m using a Samsung Note 20 as my screen for my Mini 2 with a screen shade. The screen shade does the job of screening the sun’s rays, but the glare, oh my God, just makes it so hard to see content, to the point that I literally have to turn my back to the drone just to see what’s on screen before turning around again to have VLOS. My plan is to go for either an 8" or pushing it 10" tablet as my screen instead of my phone, though the 10’ will be really bulky.
Does anyone use a screen hood/shade and if so, which kind are you using ? Many thanks.
Martin
Get a Matt screen protector or anti glare one. That will help no end.
@Stillight Me too Mick, here’s how the conversation goes:
Me: “Lost it during the orbit, where is it now my lovely piece of delectiableness” [poetic licence fully abused there]
The wife: “It’s over there now” [gesticulating frantically in the air]
Me: “Oh, but the compass is indicating over there?” [Gesticulating in the opposite direction]
The wife: Oh yes, sorry its a bird!"
Me: “@#*###### my lovely”
