I just placed an order for GoPro 11 mini which costed £199.99
I just received an email stating I might have to pay UK customs when the product arrives in the UK. Is it true that I will now have to pay extra for customs ?
Has anyone else bought a GoPro from the official GoPro UK website?

The invoice mentions a tax amount charged already. But I am unusure as to if or not I would have to pay any extra customs charges.
Should have just bought from amazon. I am a prime member.
Did the invoice include UK VAT?
Yes, I am an Orthopaedic surgeon.
20% is the UK VAT rate - but it doesn’t say UK VAT.
Is a UK VAT Reg Number quoted on the invoice?
Yes. This was the UK VAT number provided in the invoice. Checked online in tax.service.gov.uk and got this result.
Then you should be OK.
VAT is calculated on the duty declared value.
Uk VAT doesn’t cover Import Duty. Was the website .com or .co.uk?

Thats Gopro .com I think they ship from US? So may have to pay import duty. Does it have a shipping and taxes page you can check on?
This is the shipping policy page. But its from 2022. Says for UK, “Tax is included in item price”, and “Taxes and Duties Included in order total”

I honestly thought there was a GoPro website for UK. Didn’t know it was a USA website translating the money in pounds.

It does say local tax, which in this country is VAT.
I would say the Dr has nothing to worry about
It is the law that the wording says VAT, even if not the country when it’s not needed.
I was an accountant.
