Hi folks (been a while away for me!)…
I’m using GIS mapping (QGIS) for my professional drone projects to plan flights and map data from drone surveys etc… however… aside from Attitude Angel’s drone safety map (which is great but you cant download their dataset) I cant find any publicly available GIS files for UK airspace!
Anybody know of any?
Look at the bottom of this page under “UAS Restrictions - Digital Datasets”
It’s available as either a KMZ or AIXM both of which are compatible with QGis:

Just make sure you remember to update it occasionally! Unfortunately they don’t offer a Webmap which would automatically update as far as I know
You dont know HOW long I’ve looked for this dataset! Weirdly its not on the govt Dataset searchable DB! And NATs dont exactly make it very public! Thanks a lot!
Hahah they do hide it away right at the bottom, perhaps because they prefer people to use the web services because temporary zones and NOTAMS won’t be on there.
And yeah, unfortunately that’s nothing special for the gov datasets, there are loads that aren’t on there or that have never been catalogued properly.
