I apologise if this has been answered before
I have a question about the council FOI responses shown on the map.
Many councils have wording such as:
“This council has no byelaws, policies or PSPOs relating to recreational drone use.”
I understand the FOI requests refer to recreational use, but is this simply because that’s how the question was asked, or should it be interpreted as applying only to recreational flying?
In other words, if Drone Scene shows this response, is it generally an indication that the council has no drone-specific restrictions on take-off and landing for commercial flights as well. Or are the FOI’s specifically about recreational use.

That is very much the bottom line.
As a hobbyist club, @Committee specifically asked the question on behalf of the hobbyist operator.
You’d need to do your own research for the commercial side of things.

Given that we have all seen commercial drone operations taking place within conventional NFZ’s, (They’ve put the route for the BVLOS medical delivery in North London directly through one) there’s likely no issue with contacting the local council’s filming department with regard to getting a permit for a commercial shoot and they will be able to advise on what they require in order to allow one, (Insurance coverage, risk assessment etc) as well as how much the permit is going to cost.
