I don’t know how you’d leave this behind… but if you did, it’s been found:
Nice to see there’s still some honesty out there
Two phones in there as well
Might be stolen and dumped or someones rushed off for an emergency.
@JoeC Hopefully the owner is reunited with it.
There should be a Operator ID on the drone.
There’s what looks like at least one iPhone in there , switch it on the owner will find them
contact the police like @UAVShipSpotter mentioned it could be linked to a crime or god forbid someone missing
I really appreciate your honesty.
My first thought was that Sarn prison is not far away, but it’s probably a bit far for a Mini. Hope it gets reunited with it’s owner!
Ringing the last number in the call register on the iPhone might be a starting point. Withold your own number and ring off if it sounds in any way dodgy!
Pretty sure this is the North Wales Bettws being referred to, but either way, bonkers if it was left!
Mind, my wife does this sort of thing all the time!
My ex left the baby outside Tesco, and at her mum’s on one occasion.
There’s a Bettws in Newport as well. ‘Tourist information office’ doesn’t sound like anything that would be related to either of the South Wales Bettwses (Bettii?), though.
Just to clarify, I didn’t find this, I’m just sharing a post from somebody else on Facebook who did.
If I had been the one to find this I’d have taken it to a police station rather than the tourist information office… and I’d get a reference number from them (not that I wouldn’t trust them ).
I’d also take a note of the OP ID (assuming it’s labelled) and serial number of the drone. Those I’d send by email to FlyCovered, Coverdrone and AirData as they ask for both and might be able to pass on the details to the owner.
I’d also drop the details over to @GADC_Committee so they could relay the news to anybody who had that same OP ID in their Drone Scene membership.
Oh, and I’d also have popped that memory card out the back of the drone and had a quick check in case anything on there helped identify the owner.
Long shots all, but at least I’d have done all I could.
Edit: Just thinking about this - assuming that’s an RC remote, powering it all on and checking the profile in the Fly App would probably be a good first step.
My Dad left me in a locker at a swimming pool … but that’s a whole other story
Well done Joe and what a great guy you are for handing it in. Did it have as code sticker on it, if so CAA may be able to trace the owner.
Well done again mate and Happy New Year to you and all.

Well done Joe hope you find who lost it.
