?? I’m trying to downgrade to 2040 from 2500 as per your message

That has been updated since to this

How did you get on Steve?

Not good Wayne :frowning:
It goes through the motions but does not result in a dowgrade
I think because I updated on the FLY app :man_shrugging:

TBH I’ve been busy extracting myself from my employment, should have more time next week to look at it again

Oh it doesn’t downgrade, it applies a bespoke firmware which is mixed module

basically it updates some parts of the drone but not all

See here

  • Enable flashing of Module-Mixed Firmwares for certain devices

What is module mixing?

It is a old technique by the OGs from Mattermost, back from the days when the Mavic Pro (1st gen) was newest device. Basically it means that we create our own firmware package by removing some of the modules inside the package, in the end the drone will be in a module-mixed firmware state.

Let’s take the Air2s as an example, our hacks work on firmware 02.04.2040, now you can flash a 02.04.2500 firmware on top of it that will not have the “system/0801” module included. The result is that the drone will have the firmware 2500 installed, but not fully. It is a mixed firmware on your drone, the drone now has the system/0801 from the 02.04.2040 firmware (which can handle our hacks  ) and the rest of the drone is updated to 02.04.2500.

What are the downsides?

Well the downside certainly is that you will not have all 2500 firmware features available! For example it is crucial that you enable our “RC (Pro)” hack on the module-mixed firmware, if you don’t use this hack you will not be able to use the DJI RC / DJI RC Pro. Also DJI Care binding will still not work! You need to disable the binding on an “proper” 2500 firmware. Other features might be missing too, but we will keep an eye on it and offer patches whenever possible.

Upside of this module mix?

DJI Fly and Assistant thinks that you are on the full 2500 firmware, this means that they will not nag you to update, also you can benefit of battery and esc updates, as these modules will be updated during the process & you can do all this whilst still enjoying the hacks that we can provide for the earlier firmware versions.

Where to get the firmware?
On DDD of course! Keep an eye out for the firmware with the C at the end, the C indicates this is custom version without the system module

Happy retirement!

Mavic 3 - Full Unlocks & More - Drone-Hacks 1.36 by DHChris

Posted on 2024-01-04 15:54:28

We wanted to start 2024 off strong & so today is an announcement that we’re sure many many Drone-Hacks customers and fans have been waiting for. We bring to you the full suite of unlocks for the Mavic 3 drone, plus some awesome extras.

Everything discussed below is targeted at the standard Mavic 3. Other models such as the Classic, Pro, Cine, Enterprise etc are not yet covered by this hack!

DroneID, OpenDroneID & Airsense
All of the above systems have been disabled. Your Mavic 3 drone running this firmware cannot be detected by the likes of a DJI Aeroscope & will not take any actions normally taken when messages are received by the ADS-B receiver.

Full NFZ & Altitude Unlocked
Without needing to use the Drone-Hacks NFZ unlock certificate, your drone will ignore all NFZ’s and altitude restrictions enforced by DJI. The altitude limit is set at 10 km which is way beyond the range the drone can reach anyway. If you decide to exit the ATTI mode during flight, it is recommended to reduce the height to less than 10m so that the sonar sensors are able to once again “see” the ground, auto landing will then work as normal.

Those are the headline features, but we mentioned some cool extras, so this hack comes with two more little features too.

Firstly, since you can now fly without being detected by Aeroscope, we wanted to extend this stealth ability, so you can now disable the external LED’s on the aircraft.

Secondly, you can disable GPS and fly in what is essentially an upgraded Atti mode. However, further extending this ability, the GPS is truly disabled. In all flight logs and on the map, your GPS coordinates will be “0,0”, this is indicated by a white zero where you normally see the number of GPS satellites you can see. This can be done on-the-fly by moving the mode switch on the controller to “C”, this will fully disable GPS.

One More Thing
The coolest part about this hack is its user configurable. For the first time ever you can modify certain elements of the hack.

In DJI Fly, simply open up the Settings and tap in About. You will see a field called “Name” which can be edited. Adding things into here can add or remove certain hack features, these are fully explained below. Where a command below is shown in green, these are the default settings applied after the hack is performed.

fcc_on,
fcc_off,
These two commands allow you to enable or disable FCC power levels. Disabling is recommended for drones with 2.4Ghz amplifiers.

leds_on,
leds_off,
A nice simple one. Applying the leds_off, command will disable the LED’s on the drone allowing you to fly in stealth mode!

bat_land_on,
bat_land_off,
Finally, we have a way to disable the autoland on low battery. Simply apply the bat_land_off, command and the drone will not force a landing when the battery voltage is low. Obviously, be careful here as if the battery voltage drops too low the drone will drop from the sky!

Nice release, I hope they expand this to other drones soon.

If you didn’t stop installing firmware updates from DJI years ago, then right now this very moment is probably the point at which you should

And just a reminder that our Members are eligible for a discount with Drone Hacks, details can be found in the Members Only category

Just wondered if anyone has tried out the new hack from Drone-Hacks for the Mavic 3 .Only the original mavic 3 no other models supported yet .Seem like you can toggle on and off fc mode as well as quite a few other mods.

Just installed the latest drone -hacks version of their hack (Mavic 3 Only) and so far so good no issues and its a simple process to install just remember to close any firewall ect prior to install .
The fact that you can switch off and on fcc, led lights , and a few other things is great .You do loose a few of the newer things but im sure in time these will be available .The fact drone id will not be able to detect you is an addition to the hack some folks might like .I really only wanted fcc and the fact that you can switch it off and make it dissapear from your controller is a great feature .If and when they update the firware for the rc pro then ill go down that route and return my drone to stock firmware but for now it has been hasstle free .There is a you tube video showing the complete process and the guy explains what you get better i can just look for Mavic 3 drone hacks .

1.39 Release by Awesome

Posted on 2024-02-22 14:34:35

Hey there,
today we release the app version 1.39.
This release aims at the Air 3 and Mini 4 Pro.
For this models we can now enable FCC mode on the device (please check our birdmap for firmware compatiblity!).
For our Indian users we have included and removal of the 15m limit in India for the Mini 4 Pro.

This release will NOT remove NFZ or altitude limits, it can only enable FCC mode.

One step closer :clap:t2::clap:t2::clap:t2:

Hi, I have a Mini 3 Pro which I bought with the RC controller, I’ve since bought a RCN1 to use Drone Tweaks and apart from the screen not being as bright I like the ergonomics of the sticks at the bottom configuration. Just been looking at Drone Hacks here just not sure if it’s for the drone not the controller how does it raise to FCC? Goesn’t the controller firmware need changing too. The main hurdle it doesn’t seem to apply to the Mini 3 Pro or am I missing something ?Thanks

On the Mini 3 Pro you use an Android only App that puts the drone into FCC mode, once done you can use any controller till you power cycle then you have to use the DH app again to enable FCC

This video covers it but it’s old so it will not mention the Mini 3

Thank you

Its the drone thats gets hacked not the controller , i never even switched the controller on during the process .The good thing about the Mavic 3 hack version is that via the controller you can enable or disable quite a few functions .

Not on all the drones its not, some can’t be hacked, like the Mini 3 Pro

so DH have an app that tricks the drone into thinking it’s in an FCC region

Does anyone know if the latest DJI fly app version (1.12.8) works with hacked drones (mini 2)?

I’m on 1.4.8 :face_with_peeking_eye:

If you are on Andriod you can just try it, it should work ok but if not uninstall it and reinstall 1.4.8

Unfortunately I’m on iOS so can only update to the latest. Keep missing their announcements and then a newer version of the app gets released :weary:
