Great, thanks Ian. Clear links took me through to my local authority; South Kesteven District Council, who replied that they do not have any bylaws or policies specifically related to flying recreational drones. I’ve printed out the relevant page, its in my drone pack ready for the next local know-all.

Erewash Borough Council in their response to your foi request said they don’t have any drone restrictions. However if you put drones in their website search facility it clearly contradicts this by stating:- " Use of drones
The use of drones for filming purposes is not allowed over Erewash Borough Council land, including respective parks and open spaces." Parks and Gardens I questioned this and received the following response from their Neighbourhood Services Manager. “The Borough Council parks and open spaces attract a high number of adult and children visitors each year and, where we are able, we ensure the safety of those users. Whilst I appreciate an incident may not happen, we cannot rule it out, and therefore we do not authorise the use of drones over our land. Depending on where you are located within the borough, please consider the No-Fly Zone which comes into the edge of the Borough from East Midlands Airport.”
Could be a little confusing to some people. I am willing to persue this but would benefit from a little guidance.

They keep using the word “over” their land. They have no jurisdiction on the airspace over their land.
