A few places to choose from

Yes we like Cardiff nice place to visit and used to be a regular there with work on the tunnels when the emergency comms stuff needed a kick

Not really my cup of tea (from a spectator’s pov I prefer fireworks), but depending on NOTAMs it might be worth flying from Pontcanna Fields nearby to film whatever can be seen of the action. Incidentally, drones are not on the list of things you are not allowed to bring to the cricket ground for this event, although I cannot imagine that flying on the premises would be tolerated.

we also done the fireworks championship last year that had fireworks and a drone show
was very impressive will be doing a few of them next year as well
re places to to film from i recall there is a nice high spot past the retail park thats elvated
and have great view not sure if public access been a while since i was up there

Public access around 3 sides of the perimeter of the stadium, and open ground at Pontcanna Fields just to the nw of it for TOAL The Taff Trail runs along the riverbank, but is not really suitable as a TOAL position because of the cyclists, who come charging along there with powerful headlamps despite the darkness, and the access road for the national sports arena, the cricket ground, and the council caravan park is available on the sw side. To the se there is a small area of ground between the sports arena and the stadium, not very good for TOAL with tall structures either side and trees.

You could probably go up to about 200’ from the Pontcanna Fields side and get a pretty good veiw, but of course going too much higher than the show drones will mean losing them against the background of city lights. One would have to do it by trial and error, and from a safe distance!

Birmingham looks like its sold out :expressionless:

If it’s the same company / business that was running the Nottingham Xmas Themed Drone light Show, be warned.

The Nottingham drone light performance was cancelled due to strong winds and 1000’s of people lost their ticket money, because there was no cancellation clause.

I think they changed there tune on this one due to the bad press they were getting about it.

I was due to go to it too - friends booked the ticket for us so she handed everything - we are now going to the wizard of Oz one early next year.

Should be good.

They just changed the date of the original tickets so nothing lost for us but know many people won’t be able to make the dates suggested and they should get there money back.
