The ones that like the pretty airballoon snapping pics but not the ugly drone. lol
I have a couple of black widow slingshots - when I was a boy I could’ve sworn it was deadly. I got a new one a couple of years ago - went rabbiting with it. Hit the rabbit square on its shoulder and it just ran off like it was hit with a feather. I was about ten meters from it.
Best way to take a drone down would be with with cheap RC 3D plane - an EPP foam with huge prop and spinner. Hit the thing at full throttle. It would be all over for both craft.
As an military ex firearms specialist, two things… 1) trying to hit a drone in flight is very hard. Aldo “what’s his face” ex RM marksman tried it in a document while ago with a large caliber weapon and it took a good many shots to hit the target. In this test the target was hovering and at range. To hit a drone with an air rifle whilst a drone is in flight would be near on impossible, as gravity, wind and moving target and the power the projectile is actually fired is all making the engagement harder. 2) What goes up must come down. One reason why the Police do not use firearms to take down drones is because when a projectile is fired the round will need to fall somewhere and the velocity of the round is still high enough to cause damage or injury. This is the legal approach the police will take if the investigate a weapon being discharged. Even if they do hit the drone, this will then fall to the ground and then the police will prosecute the guy who fires the weapon anyway.
My tuppence worth, did some background research (eg. Airgun law in the UK | Airgun Shooting) on the legalities when I got my .22 (purely for plinking, Officer ) just to be sure some nebby tourist didn’t get SO19 on to me
. Basically muzzle velocity to be less than 12ft.lb (might well be, mine just scrapes in at 11.6ft.lb) and can’t be discharged less than 50ft from middle of nearest public highway (maybe not, if Mr Facef##k is urban) - we’re OK, out in t’stix
. I do like that fry pan image too, though…
I rekon this could take down a drone especially with this guy.
Not an air rifle I know but well worth a watch, if you haven’t already seen it that is.
Whilst agreeing with the comments, the safest way to deal with the odd Dronofile (New word) is to fly within the law. I rang our local MATC and asked if I could fly inside the edge of their ATZ. He was happy to give me permission and I think it was because I bothered to ask. He actually closed the call by saying “Thanks for asking and if anyone gives you grief get them to speak to me”.
Also remember that the definition of a highway is “a route between two places over which the public may pass and repass ON FOOT” So a public footpath, bridleway etc is a highway by definition, and the 50ft rule applies. That’s also why you cannot get prosecuted for a Highways Act offence(inc. the diischarging a firearm one) near a motorway. Pedestrians are prohibited on a motorway, therefore it’s not a highway.
Useless information, sorry

Wow that guy is good. But that gun would be frowned upon at our club lol even if it had been UK legal.
It’s been bugging the hell out of me, and pennies just dropped.
Do you don’t spell Rifle, riffle (as in the thread title)
Only finally dawned because someone on Radio 4 just riffled (searched) though someone else’s shit.
You are correct, you can now sit at the front of the class
I’ve just checked my spelling, and unusually I got it right
Holy Sh**t, you could fry an egg on them barrels !!! What a weapon, and what an eye that guy has.
