Drones and Kestrels

Hi All, first post from me in this group. I have been flying in some fields behind a local trading estate and the last couple of days I have been joined by a Kestrel. The first time I saw it I was hovering and it flew towards me at great speed and turned across in front of me and eyeballed my drone. Looking back over the videos of the day and I noticed it was flying around possibly keeping an eye on me. The second time I flew in the same fields I flew at the other end away from where I had my first encounter but the kestrel was still keeping an eye on me!
My question is, am I disturbing the Kestrel while it is hunting? They nest late March to April so I’m not disturbing it nesting, I’m happy to find another spot to fly if I am endangering the bird in any way. Regards Julian

Hi @demonbarber it looks as though you’re quite new here :wave:t2:

Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself. :+1:t2:

Hi from sunny Blackpool.

It maybe displaying territorial behaviour, your hovering might look like another kestrel to him, then when he’s seen you close is unsure.
