On my way home yesterday I got some video of the impressive Elveden War Memorial alongside the A11. It is 39m tall, looming over Thetford forest. An hour after I left the sun finally came out! Enjoy.

Great pictures but I can’t help thinking that the auto exposure spoilt the detail in the orb.
With a sky like that, manual exposure might have been a better choice

Yes, you’re right, If i’d have had more time I would have put a filter on and set to manual. I only had a few minutes to get it done. Next time I pass it I will film again.

Before the road was duelled the memorial was further back from the carriage way. When I was a boy, about seventy years ago, at a time when there was much less traffic, there was a pull-in beside it and a rough parking area. We used to stop off there with a flask of tea, breaking our journey on our way back from a day at Newmarket. It was quite a long journey in those days lol.
It’s lovely to see it in detail, but my goodness, haven’t times changed even if the memorial hasn’t!
I grew up in Norwich in the 70’s and 80’s and that was always the “wee stop” on the way to London!
