I particularly like how the river snakes back and forth on the second image is this consumed during high tide?
Yes, the tide was on it’s way back in. At high tide it’s all water.

Just for a bit of scale, I am actually in the 2nd pic. Over by the rocks on the left, if you zoom in. The way on and off the beach is by the house in the background. Not long after this I had to pack up and go or the water would have cut me off. It was just a bit too chilly for wading back to the path
