ESC`s can any esc be used as a replacement

Hi .New to drones but have had one for a few years but never used it until a month ago .
Anyway on my first outing (in my back garden …not a great idea) i crashed it into my garden wall ,cracked a rear arm and damaged the esc in the arm .Cannot get the same part as drone is now obsolete, so my question is can any esc be used as a replacement or have all esc`s got to be the same. Any help will be appreciated.

As long as it has 2 power input, 3 power output and 2 signal wires, generally any esc of the same rating could be used, BUT to make life simple replacing all 4 would be easier, and make calibration simpler.
What drone is it.

what ESC? What drone? Self built FPV?

Hi
The drone is a PRO FLIGHT PFBD 303 …GPS Brushless motors 11.1v 3s lipo. HD camera.
I have added some photos of the esc`s, the larger of the esc being the original one ,the smaller one is the replacement one I bought which is a 32bit 8 amp 5-16volt with 5 contacts in and the 3 out contacts for the motor
There is also a picture of the connectors on the main board with symbols I am not too sure of the meanings apart from the + and -.for. the voltage
Am I to take it these are plug and play or do you need to do something befor they work as when I connected the new one up the drone did not seem to recognise it also when connecting the input leads the led stayed on solid and other 3 corners were flashing.I know this was not an expensive drone (about £120 about4 years ago ) but thought it would be ok for starters and its just bugging me as to why the new esc is not working. Is it something I am doing ANY advice would be appreciated.
Thanks Ken

Sorry I was not allowed to upload any more pictures .I will have a go later .
Thanks

If it was me i would be looking at replacing them with something like

But without having a proper look im not 100% certain of what your connections are.

Some older esc conections would be
5 " input pins"
Voltage in + and -, signal and possibly 5v out and ground

Obviously the 3 output are the motor wires.

For recognition normally to calibrate an esc you would put the throttle to max, boot up, after the beeps reduce the throttle to minimum.

Others may have other advice.

ABC seem to be output to the motor. But the 5 inputs without seeing the labels i can’t guess.
