Experience with DJI Repair Center - Nottingham

Hi guys,

Had my first major crash with a DJI Mini 3 Pro a week or so ago.

Drone arrived with DJI last Thursday and was looked at on Friday. Since then, all I keep getting are emails asking for more flight logs, even from before when the incident took place. I’m not sure what their game is or why it’s relevant to the crash.

Someone please tell me they’ve had a good experience with their repair service to stop me going insane!

Never needed myself, but generally experiences reported have been good.

Which repair centre was it sent to?

And, was this under Care Refresh?

Hi, drone went to Nottingham service center without Care Refresh.

I have a second Mini 3 Pro with it’s own small issue; think I might be repairing it myself.

Ah. OK. That’s a relatively new option, and I’m less certain about people’s average experiences there … although one I recall from a couple of weeks ago was favourable.

Because they may have a spotted a fault in manufacturing, firmware, software etc. It could be backed up with information in your logs? In which case you might get a free replacement instead of having to pay for it! If you’ve not done anything dodgy then I’d be sending them logs

Yeah, I sent them everything back to August '22 - around 500mb in total.

Maybe you’re right; however I don’t think it helped when I slammed the drone into a wall 5-6 times :joy:

I had excellent experience from Nottingham service centre
AIR2S, out of warranty, no care-refresh. I paid £200+ (less than half of another repairer)
They sent me a brand new (manf. July ‘24) drone
All with in space of three days
I’m well satisfied :clap::clap::clap:

@TallDrone I used the Drone Doctor instead of DJI, they are very good.

I have another Mini 3 Pro which has a small crack in the R-axis gimble plastic; Drone Doctor quoted me £160 to 250, confirmed after inspection. I know the guy has to make a living but I think this one might be within my own reach.

Good news, finally got my quote through from DJI.

They mentioned that my control board was damaged and I now think they were trying to work out if the damage occurred before or after the crash - @mynameisjoe think you were right.

Anyway, this is a bargain price for how much damage there was - I’ve already paid and hope to see a new drone through the door soon!

I’ve stripped these down and the control board is well protected and need a smash from hell to even touch it, when you get it back see if it’s still binded to your controller and not been unbounded from you account, most damages are GPS module or gimble as there only held by rubber. I wonder if there was signs of shortage and wanting logs to see if got wet.

If drone came back working and only cost £123 I be extremely happy.:clap::clap::clap:

To be fair, I have had minor issues in the past, with the RC losing connection to the drone around 5Ghz networks. I’ve had to override to 2.4 to maintain a stable connection.

The drone has certainly never been anywhere near water. I already know I’m not getting my drone back, as the DJI service report states a new serial number for the replacement.

Either way, I’m over the moon (so long as DPD don’t muck up the delivery).

Last update. A brand new Mini 3 Pro arrived through my door a moment ago, along with my old gimble cover! Aside from the lack of info at the start, this turned into an excellent experience!
