Filters for long exposure

For those of you who take long-exposure shots, what filters do you most often reach for?

I quite fancy trying my hand at some long-exposure photography with the Mavic 2 Pro. Nothing overly elaborate, just waves or waterfalls for now.

I’m wondering whether it’s worth spending money on anything as dark as 128 or 256 (or higher). Will it just sit in the bag waiting for that one day of perfect sunshine here in Scotland? Would 64 be a better option for our climate?

Thanks in advance

Even in the brightest of sunshine in Spain/France and Portugal I’ve managed to get down to 1/50th of a second on video with no more than an ND16 (4 stops) so I guess it depends on how low you want to go.

I would think about a second would do it. Should get away with a 64 then, I guess.
