First ever crash damage

Thats me had my first major incident in 2 years of flying.
Just had my 4 pro out and it crashed snapping an arm.
Time to find out how good the DJI care insurance is.

Any tips? I have never had to claim before.

As Mark said above, very easy.
I had 2 options, send away for a basic repair, wait for it to be assessed when they receive it OR request a quick repair providing a deposit to cover the cost of a replacement, this is in case i did not send original back.

I opted for the second, they emailed a return label, then later that day I had a DPD notification to say my DJI package will be arriving tomorrow.
Next day I had a “refurbished” drone delivered, refurbished so well i needed to cut the seal on the box and remove all the stickers etc…All this before I had returned my original.

Sent back original again via DPD then I got my deposit credited back to card about a week later.

Top notch service.

Thanks for the replys.
It was relativly easy. I thought they might ask for flight logs but no they didnt.

Did like “richrab” payed the security and will get it returned when i send them mine.

Thanks

My first Air 3S had a smudge on the camera sensor, the actual person working on my repair called me from DJI in Holland to say he could not find a fault, I was able to explain how to see the effect it left on photo’s and videos, he then realised the fault and sent me a brand new Air 3S.
They are dedicated to their job is what I am trying to get across, he could have just sent it back “no fault found” but wanted to repair or replace if he could, the replacement was done under normal warranty not my Care Refresh because it was a fault from factory

I would say a Tree jumped out in front of you, happens to the best of us, But on the back arm?

Hmm. Is there a pattern here? My first Air 3S was replaced without a quibble because the 70 mm lens wouldn’t autofocus. The replacement is fine.

Well I have to report everything went well with my claim.
Reported it to DJI at 4pm and got replacement 2pm next day. Brand new still in cellophane.

I have to say the crash was my own fault. Checked conditions wind 8ms gusting at 13ms and I just flew to close for the conditions. You can see in the film the drone struggling with the wind.
So I have to put it down to pushing the boundaries too much.

Sir David Sterling fights back

Great outcome from DJI as usual - bit surprised obstacle avoidance didn’t handle that one but if it was windy, might have been forced into the statue … thanks for sharing

I had a similar incident with mini 5 last week.
While RTH , drone was in collision with tree ,wind was 5m/s so well within limits.
Drone was returned to DJI and inspection found the obstacle avoidance system was not working correctly.

New replacement drone arrived today, i think this was warranty replacement as no claim against my care refresh.
