Hello so today was my first ever flight being brand new to any form of flying never mind drones in general i set the lito x1 up and popped out to see what its all about i have to say the the lito was so easy to get off the ground and the r2 controller with its built in “how to” lesson to get me going i think was grate for showing me the ropes i was buzzing around with no problems at all super impressed already looking forward to going out again while the weather is with us

Weather being what it is today, watch the wind and stay away from the trees, and you’ll be fine. Walk before you can run, take your time, build experience, and have fun!

Where i was was somewhat sheltered from the wind i thought i would start in a wide open space away from any potential obstacles while i get the feel for the controls but your advice on both counts definitely noted i must admit i was a little bothered about sending her up given my level of experience being zero but if you don’t try you won’t learn

Advice FWIW is to take video anyway, on auto, even if you intend not to keep it. Don’t worry about the quality, yet, this is part of the learning curve, shoot in auto and forget that the camera is running while you practice with the drone. In conjunction with Airdata, it can be a useful diagnostic tool when you are gaining experience, and looking to see where you went ‘wrong’ (clue, it’s the collision with the tree, isn’t it?). Download AirData, which will give you your flight logs and record of pretty much everything you did, probably including some things you thought you didn’t, and this is time-stamped so can be correlated to points on the video record. As you gain experience, you will start to appreciate the app’s logging of stuff you’re not worrying about yet, such as battery condition, rudder response, & such, which are a good overall guide to the health of your drone. In fact, the longer you have Airdate, the more you appreciate it’s value for general diagnostics and feedback for better flying practice from the lunatic with the rc, in this case, you!
Moreover, if you have questions and post the data here, we will be better able to interpret the situation and help you. On top of that, it will provide you with data you might need in the (hopefully avoided) events of a legal claim, insurance, and Care Refresh (though Deej will have most of the stuff they need for this anyway!).
But it’s obviously going well for you so far, and I like to see my homies doing good…

Get DJI Care Refresh
Fly drone
Practice figures of 8
Compose/Expose decent still photos
Have a simple process for archival
Try some editing with Lightroom (ipad)
Do some night flying
Practice video - realised how hard it is
Practiced more video - got much better and learned how to use Lightcut (ipad)
Got used to processes for sharing and uploading video
Tried all the stills effects on the drone - worked out which ones I need to use more
Fly drone more
Good Luck - it’s a lot of fun
(never used air data - there are many advocates but right now, it’s a solution to a problem I havent got, so a low priority)

Hey Ron5256… I have had my X1 for around 2 weeks and been flying most days. Im really impressed with the tech and as its my first ever drone its been a learning curve but just about getting to grips with it.

Definitely need some more practice I’m hoping to get some quality time in while I’m on holiday photoshop is my go to editor as I’m windows based

I don’t really have a benchmark to judge the x1 by so i can’t say is if its a beginner friendly drone other than what i watched on you tube review wise and the fact that it was very easy to set up i bought the r2 transmitter with it and i found all the built in advice and tutorials very helpful in helping get someone who’s never flown anything before to airborne and buzzing around my local playing field in just a few hours over all im very pleased with it and most importantly having a fair amount of fun just watching it do its thing
