It actually stopped raining, and the wind dropped for a bit, so I took the drone out onto Savile Park and tried a launch from grass. Somehow I managed to stop the drone recording but the controller was still capturing all the action so not a total waste. I’ve discovered that longish grass is not my friend, but a bit of Native American war dancing flattened it down enough to leave terra firma, Great fun, and please learn from my mistakes
Good height on first flight - higher than me.
Have you connected up to airdata app ?
I set myself a low altitude limit on this occasion - just in case - there’s a lot of crows on that park No I need to get airdata sorted out - all fascinating new stuff!
First flights are always good to get the juices flowing! Learn to hand launch and catch asap and the terrain won’t matter a jot. Wear a glove if your not sure about it 1st few times.
PS. Keep a few finger plasters in your bag just in case, them paper type cuts bleed all over the place.
yes the first few times can be a bit daunting but you will get the hang of it
get one of the landing pads , plenty of small foldable ones
I have two one big plastic one great for the heavy moorland grass and a smaller foldable one
I’m trying the hand option soon - it looks easy on various videos I’ve seen, but those blades do look sharp. Plasters… something else to add to my Flymore bag - I’m gonna need a bigger bag!
Yeah! Definitely on my list of things to get! With that and hand launching I should be prepared for anything. This morning however, I shall use a small plastic tea tray as the park will invariably be wet again: seems to take ages to dry out.
Well done, I do not even remember my first flight. Can not remember what I actually did. Lol.
Haha … it was like that with forgetting to hit that big red dot to start recording video. I felt a right twit!
I just have to find the time to learn more myself. Well done on this one.
