First Negative Response when flying

This sort of thing makes my blood boil - we, as responsible fliers take the time to make sure we are within the law (as it stands) to make sure we are flying as stipulated, Drone Code, NATS etc.
But when someone who has a small amount of knowledge thinks they have the right to interfere, then goes running of to mummy (police in this case), when mummy arrives they have no idea either, they are going to go against the drone user, because by definition they are bad people because they have a drone.
All Police forces should be issued with the same guidance we have, then at least we will be on the same level playing field.
Perhaps the GADC could release a video on the drone law, dos and don’ts etc and get it out in the public domain - there are talented videographers on here to make good, informative video.
Rant over.
Have a good weekend.

Since when did we start to live in a Police state? Probably when they changed from a Police service to force.

Since PC Dixon retired from Dock Green.

Evening all!

One of my favourites .

Looks like its moored out before the Queensferry crossing.

No TFRs in place, only the NFZ at Rosyth.

Might head over on Saturday if it’s still there and find a secluded spot to fly.

I work with the Police a lot and without painting them all as shit, the majority are thick as bricks.

No grey areas, unable to listen just like to talk loudly and over you.

A question to ask when they say you cannot do blah blah blah, is ask for the legislation for that particular offence, unfortunately and again because they are so thick they will (nearly always, as with photographers) fall back to Section 43 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Hell - those so large you could fly through the hangers whilst maintaining distance from anything!

In another thread (on flying closer to the Forth bridges than you were) I said that I had my first (and only) negative experience. Perhaps people in this area are particularly sensitive, or it could be just bad luck…
I am happy to go with you next time you go for moral support (send me a text) as I like flying in that area anyway. The coffee is also good at the new restaurant at Port Edgar…

Andrew

You should have told him “If I’m breaking the law then feel free to arrest me”. Being a Police constable doesn’t give you the right to dictate to people just because you don’t like what he/she is doing…

I’ve spoken to my brother who is in the Police. And he pointed out, you can’t just make rules up, you need to have facts to make an arrest…

There is always a wanker around when you least expect it.
Go fly, bollocks to what others think, this is why I always carry a bunch of documents around with me, so I can correct the uneducated basteds!.

I did have a copy of the drone code… but got a few more bits from the members area I’ll keep stored on my phone… in the few weeks I’ve been flying I have only had really positive meetings while flying. Just that one day… I will chalk it up to a couple of idiots and not let it put me off at all…
