First time flying & landing manual with the DJI Neo

DJI Neo. This is my first manual flight & landing using the Goggles N3 & FPV Controller 3.
Camera set to 15°.

The DJI Neo is my first ever drone, and this video documents my first manual flight combined with a manual landing.
I apologise for the shaky video, I know I’m not very smooth. Hopefully I’ll get better, hahah.

I had put in around 6.5 hours of practice in the Simulator (Liftoff: FPV Drone Racing) before my maiden flight.
The Simulator really is a fantastic tool to practice your skills in a safe environment. I had zero experience piloting anything coming into this.
Think I must have crashed a hundred times (if not more) in those few short hours.

Well done, I dispensed with any sim training (although i had flown camera stuff for 10 years)

I found flying LOS is very helpful, take off the goggles and fly it circles and squares (over grass preferably).

Did you have the attitude limit switched on?

That’s a good tip. :+1: I’ll give it a go.

No, I’ve been flying with the attitude limit switched off from day one. I have been using the same rates in the sim as I use on my drone, so it behaves similarly.
Thankfully, the DJI controller has a “pause” button for when my abilities fall short. It’s a really useful function.
