Improved video with Chase Cam footage, FPV view and commentary.
Great videos. Watched em in full… Hmmm planes… Hmmmm… Love the chasing one with Karl ![]()
It’s a different experience… gotta keep on experiencing…
A bit more effort than drones… drones you can chuck up almost anywhere. Planes need more space and landing areas… well this one does anyway.
Chasing is great. I definitely want to do more of that. Maybe two planes chasing each other next time?
One of my grab and go planes is the Micro Skyhunter.
Very simple and very robust, and quite a screamer on 4S. On a 3S 1300mAh it will cruise quite silently for ages. I even flew it during the first lockdown from my deck in my back yard. I figured there were no planes, or people on the roads, why not. It was quite a surreal experience. For legal reasons I may have dreamt this.
Video of its FPV maiden a few years ago. The camera used for the video was a Foxeer Legend 1, and the FPV was an AIO powered from a TinyWhoop 1S cell.
I’ve got the Mini SkyHunter, still a good size though, runs a 2814 motor, 4S lion pack and Arduplane.
Rich’s ZOHD will I’m sure run nicely on a 3S with just a motor change, the motor supplied in the kit is only 1’000KV something ![]()
I think I’m running a 2700kv motor, spinning a 3Blade 5inch prop, and 40Amp ESC, essentially quad parts on my Micro/Nano SH.
On 3S it does struggle when into a stuff headwind. On 4s? Well let’s just say I’ve stripped a couple of elevator sevo’s trying to come out of a powered dive. ![]()
I need to learn how to do this ![]()
A lot of f***ng around… Especially not helped by being told to use the wrong software!
I reply reg the Nano Eve here to stay on topic. I tested the new ESC today, and boys… it’s another planet.
I went for this one:
It’s much more responsive than the original one; I flew for 50% more time (30 minutes rather than 20, not particularly gentle with the throttle, landed on a liion 4s 3000 at 3.35v. So I had another 6/8 mins).
Next mods are the carbon rods on the v-tail and the double aileron servos. Not sure when I’ll get all the parts, will let you know.
I use those, I’m also impressed with them ![]()
