Thought this local Poppy field would make a nice backdrop for my Insta 360 camera mount tests
Result:- It flew (take off from a bucket) - But its a right Bugger to land
Iād launch by hand, and hand catch. After all ā¦ you can use the Insta360 as a bit of a handle.
I did actually hand catch it, but am I missing a trick about Motor shutdown.
At present, trying to shut the motors down by pushing both sticks down and inwards whilst trying to catch it without the bottom sensors making the thing rise up away from me requires at least 3 hands - please tell me thereās an easier way?
Turning off the downward sensors might be a start?
I can them turned off on my MP, and I believe I recall thatās also possible on the M2.
Somewhere in my memory Iām also sure I recall reading that thereās a ātechniqueā to hand catching with the sensors still on.
Not at all 100% certain, but I seem to recall that, when the M2 is in a hover, you bring your hand in from the side, rather than up from underneath.
I also think I recall that you can flip the M2 over to cut the motors.
Iāll see if I can find something on that later, if nobody far more certain than myself has responded to confirm or refute.
Itās less complicated than I suggested ā¦
ā¦ obviously, slightly modified because of your Insta360, that should make it easier.
Also once you have hold of it just keep the throttle down for a few seconds and the motors stop. Thatās how I do it with the zoom and 2 Pro.
No need for both sticks to be down and in.
Thanks for all your helpful replies.
Iāll try them out next time
Have u tried too mounting ? I found it vibrated a lot underslung with the prop wash
I tried top mounting with my MA2. The vibrations were horrible.
Not really interested in top mounting as Iād be wanting to do 360s showing directly down
No worries if yourāe only doing stills
Well itās mostly video with 360s, on the practice video I did yesterday the insta coped very well on ironing out any vibrations .
Iāll see if I can put a short sample up later tonight
So, after all the excellent tips, I returned back to the poppy field earlier this afternoon to see if I could put them into practiceā¦
(I think the fish-eye effect has accidently given me a big belly - or it could just be the beer & chips)
Nice
When it pulls up trying to catch it leave your hand where it is and then again stick down it will float nicely into your hand
