Had to google it never heard of it( them )

FLIRT stands for Flinker Leichter Intercity- und Regional-Triebzug (English: “fast, light, innovative intercity and regional train”) and has become one of the most popular and successful platforms for modern rail vehicles. The first FLIRTs were designed as four-car articulated trains with two traction end bogies.

Thought you meant they was flirting

Bimodal. So they can run from either a pantograph or a dinky little centre mounted diesel electric power car if there’s no overhead catenary like in this case (If there was I wouldn’t be flying anywhere near them)

All of Greater Anglia (the soon to be nationalised) use these, having upgraded from a fleet of Mk3s and some class 37s

Also known as Class 755

The dinky little power car can be seen here (the grey box)

It’s not the APT-P but it is it’s smaller Swiss non tilting somewhat younger cousin.

I used to be well into trains years ago ( train spotting ) 🕵🏻‍♂️
Always buying a platform ticket to watch them :tickets: was only about 5-6 pence for a platform ticket lol, loved my train sets as well.

I was brought up as a child backing onto a small (now long gone) goods only branch line so waving at trains was instilled at an early age. Sometimes they wave back
