Stumbled across a link for this movie, around 0900hrs and thought I’ll give this a go later.

I’ve just spent the last 2hrs absolutely transfixed to TV.

Wow :flushed:

I’m stuck for words. :+1:t2::grin:

Watching this at the moment, didnt realize flyers carry around whats called packs, as in multiple drones so if you crash one, just pick up the next and carry on, this cant be a cheap hobby thats for sure…loving it so far

Hmmm OK, they kind of referred to if they crash they just replace the drone with another!!

This is absolutely true, and something you learn early on. If you’ve made a special trip out to fly a spot and something goes awry with your very first flight, it can be very disappointing. Better to have some subs on the bench to keep you going.

My first session at a bando ended about 30 seconds into my first pack, when I smashed the quad into a brick wall and broke the camera. No spares, so instant spectator mode. :frowning:

Yeah the problem I have is most analog headsets don’t accommodate us who can’t see shit, so we have to go the route of HD goggles and I ain’t buying all that expensive kit to put into a wall so guess I’m stuck with 1 build for now…

Watched this a couple of times now and it really does capture the most excellent parts of this hobby. It gets a bit bogged down in the middle with the RemoteID politics / protests which is still interesting but less relevant to a non-US audience, but overall it’s an epically good watch.

I’ve never know anything like this hobby with the speed / adrenaline etc. I recently heard it described as wingsuit flying without all of the imminent death.

I too however know the pain of driving an hour to a bando, then stuffing it during the first pack. :man_facepalming: But, I do have a slight issue with the ‘if you’re not crashing, you’re not learning’ mentality. I get where this comes from, but I don’t have the time, patience or resource when each crunch can cost £££ to repair combined with the pain of trying to find replacement parts (Oh, you want a motor for a drone that you bought nine months ago? - yeah, good luck with that sonny)

Still, I’d challenge anyone in this hobby to watch this doc… and not immediately want to head out and fly afterwards :grin:

As a speccy foureyes, I can recommend the Skyzone Cobra X box goggles - they fit over my glasses and served me well for a few years until my very recent jump to Walksnail. I actually had them out the other day, as I haven’t transitioned my Darwin Baby Ape to digital yet and I have to say I was not completely disgusted by going back to the analog experience. :laughing:

These were all analog - one controller, one set of goggles - until recently.

Absolutely with you on this one.

And this. Re-watched it myself a couple of weeks ago. :grin:

Love mine and even use them for a little indoor HDZero too now!

Off topic: I got custom lens for my walksnail goggles. Highly recommended. Everything in focus.

One of these: HDZero VRX Module | HobbyRC UK ?
