Flying at Wembley Stadium (Brent Council & PSPO)

Is the signal bad due to this?

Operational Solutions Ltd (OSL), a drone detection and security solutions leader, is collaborating with Wembley Stadium.

Does anyone know how far out this covers or just the stadium and grounds perimeter?

Did you ever get a reply back regarding the wording of flying a drone from land with a pspo from Brent council? If you take off from out of the pspo can you fly into IE over that area at a respectable height as to not cause a nuisance.

In the end I didn’t end up flying. I was advised that even with Brent Councils permission (which was going to be at a cost) it didn’t override the PSPO. If that’s true or not I don’t know?

I just gave up in the end it was going to be such a busy weekend I didn’t want to waste any of it getting questioned.

I know auditors are hated on here but DJE media flew a drone at wembly and the experience might be worth a watch search on you tube “dje media You’ve BREACHED the PSPO” and be prepared. This is the type of reception you might face. I DO NOT ADVOCATE the aggressive approach adoped by some auditors. If those feel this is an inappropiate I will not be offended if you remove it. I do understand why the club feels auditors may harm the drone community.

SparkyFPV thank you for your link, I have only been around a year so and still on a steep learning curve. I’ve not looked at the virtually 800 postings which started several years ago although I flicked thro.. As I say I know auditors are very controversial and if the club considers my posting inappropriate I am more than happy for it to be taken down, and appologise. I do not condone what auditor do but bad behaviour by councils etc is also wrong and I thought this might give an insight of the council’s likely response when flying legally near Wembley Stadium. I hope I have not offended anyone as this certainly would not be my intention.

Just a word of warning, this area is covered by a different Brent Council PSPO which applies to all of their Parks and Open Spaces, and explicitly bans flying drones “without the written consent of the landowner and/or London Borough of Brent.” Fortunately for a borough so heavy on their PSPOs they have a good interactive map here.

They have confirmed to me before over the phone that they will never give permission to recreational flyers for TOAL within either the Wembley or Parks PSPO areas.

Incidentally for anyone who reads this and wants to help lobby to change these excessive restrictions, there is a consultation on the renewal of the Wembley and Parks/Open Spaces PSPO (by law they have to renew a PSPO every three years and this one is about to expire). It is open to anyone for comment until October - you don’t have to live or work in Brent to express an opinion. They welcome contributions from anyone.

No you haven’t, I shared the post just for your and any others information on Arnold and the true person he is

I agree, we need to keep challenging these. Posting about inaccurate information is very important

I plan to fly there in a few weeks so I will let you know how I get on… planning to take off in the park area to the south of the stadium that is NOT in the PSPO area

I’ve just had a look at the Map and attached PSPO, who would want to live there? I’m sure they were not elected to do…

May be they’ve had some problems with anti-social behaviour and felt the need to be so authoritative and restricting! many suffer for the few, as usual

As somebody who originates from London, yes Brent has always had its issues.

Given the blatant nightly shoplifting that goes on in brent/alperton and the casual car crime.
I’ve come to expect it whenever i pop to the shops so god knows how many times it happens a night

A catalytic converter was blagged on the road next to the police station a while ago. Police use that road often.

I doubt many eyebrows will be raised in the parks so long as your not a richard.

The stadium, on event days is a no go for a few reasons but on non-event i doubt anyone would notice
