Flywoo FlyLens 85 HD Walksnail 2S Brushless Whoop FPV Drone

Hi all. So after my last post and wasting 2 days trying to connect an analogue quad to a digital head set I’ve been looking for a whoop to connect to my walksnail avatar goggles L. I’ve come across this:

I’m as green as they come when it comes to quads. The mobula 8 walksnail I wanted seems to be out of stock in most places. Does anyone have any other suggestions that would work with the walksnail avatar goggles L and radiomaster pocket radio (I already have both).

Happy for you to try some of my quad before you buy.

I have this quad. It is nice. Looks good with the led lights.
Make sure yo order the version with ELRS installed.
The GPS version from flywoo direct - I could never get the GPS to lock.
Three issues -
1 - like all walksnail/dji digital the video could overheat if left on and not flying - so either turn-off, set warning or make sure standby mode is set in goggles.
2 - No buzzer - so make sure you set motors as buzzer in betaflight and or find from remote or add an standalone buzzer.
3 - It is easy to connect the battery the wrong way and bust your drone. … ask me how I know this!

Lovely drone - but expensive.
Again - watch over heating.
No buzzer
Also needs a microsd card.

I do not have this drone and have not used this seller. But it is on my potentila buy list.
In stock

Most matches the analogue whoop your brought.

Could be flown indoors.

Again - watch over heating.
No buzzer

Brilliant information thank you. There is sooo much that goes into these things. I’ve found myself a bit overwhelmed. I’m based in the UK. (Plymouth)

I have this drone, but VTX went faulty and trying to get a replacement from betaFPV did nto go well - asking credit card company to refund money.

When working was good droned, match you first analogue drone.
Make sure you select ELRS version.

Do not own. Have used flywoo - good service on warrently.

On my potential buy list.

Again - watch over heating.
No buzzer

@K3ithy My top recommendation but may not meet you use-case.

Can not be used indoors. (too big)

Make sure you select ELRS version.

Has buzzer and GPS. Can withstand being left in a tree for three months. I have two of these (one as brought one with an upgrade)

Ekk - four hour drive from where we normally meet-up. Else you could try some of them before you buy.

Have you any analogue goggles to try you analogue whoop ?

You have given me plenty of options to look into. Very much appreciated. I basically need a drone that supports walksnail and ELRS. Is that correct

No I don’t have analogue goggles. I did think about buying a second-hand pair but then my digital goggles would just be a waste.

Correct.

But consider if flying outside a buzzer.

Personally - I when from analogue to digital and I should have just skipped and straight to digital. The analogue was to some extent a waste of money for myself.

I am a bit of a snob when it comes to picture quality. That’s why I went straight for digital. Like an idiot I ordered and analogue. Couldn’t send it back because it has very slight marks on it from flying it indoors. I do like the look of the Firefly 1S DC16 Nano Baby Quad Walksnail V2.0 BN. I just have to get more batteries. I have 7 2s batteries so il have to get some 1s

@K3ithy thanks for the nudge
Because of this thread I braved the soldering iron and fixed the FlyLens85

surface mount resistor blown off.
Only lift off one pad
Levered it back down and did minimal solder. (I think none but I worked so I just stopped)

I am not sure what other damage the reverse battery caused (external LED maybe)
But limited light outside to test it outside working hours.

:+1: Brendan
but you ought to reflow the joint at each end, bit of flux, minimal amount of solder and make sure one end has cooled before you do the other.

Double or quits ?
You have seen my soldering…
It works and my fixes are not the best. I do have a heat gun but soooo tempted to just leave it.
