Just before the Sunday of the Big Meet, I popped along to the former speedway track in Corby,
Easy to park around there, as there is disused dual carriageway (complete with a deer sign just in case) which terminates at a roundabout - this in itself is quiet - but also has two exits which are not going to see cars any time soon.
I did do a 360, but unfortunately the stitching isn’t good - I think I moved the drone before it had fully saved and there wasn’t a raw copy.
The site is used for car storage, but not the track itself.
The drone did run out of battery on this run - so had a force land - fortunately I was above the dual carriageway - and just got her over the barricade half way along.
I think the second half is used for testing perhaps, as it has new tarmac on the road.
What a waste, I Watched the Indy Cars in 1998 there. had a great day you could watch the race from above the pits, and before they let everyone who wanted to do a pit walk.
I used to go there regularly pre-covid when I was trade plate driving. Enterprise/Thrifty rental stored hundreds of vehicles there before they were sold to dealers or sent to auction. The offices were housed under the main grandstand.
