I am setting up a DJI S900 (900mm diameter hexacopter) for two-person operation. This means the main camera will be controlled by a second person who will want to look at angles to the line of flight…
So I will need one or two camras to allow me an FPV to augment the Mark One eyeball. What would people recommend as a reasonable quality/price camera. I will admit to being drawn to the Runcam 2 1080p although video recording is a luxury, not a necessity.
Suggestions please?
I’d like to know the best camera to date! I have a foxeer predator 3 and it’s great at low light levels and it has a very low latency, but it’s out of date now I think.
I don’t think latency will be an issue for you, so maybe go for one that has a good white balance and is good at low light levels?
The cameras are coming out all the time though, I can’t keep up. But I get the jist that Foxeer and Runcam are the market leaders. Especially the Runcam Eagle line. There is also Caddix.

Thanks. I’ll take a closer look at your suggestions. As you say latency isn’t a big deal as long as i get to view the tree before hitting it, not after. White balance isn’t a deal breaker either but I want something with a sensible angle of view, equivalent to an 18 to 24 mm lens on a 35mm camera. Low light is a consideration, if good performance there compromises the picture at high light levels ND filters can be brought into play.
Cost has to be a considerationas well as quality - are there any recommended lesser known manufacturers worth looking at - market leaders can often get away with charging over the odds
Eachine is a cheap brand. But they have some good stuff. Their 800d goggles are great value for money for example.
Good old Eachine. Looks like I will be trawling Banggood and AliExpress for a couple of hours
