Serous bit of kit, expensive if you bounce it :frowning:

One guy I follow has a Red Komodo on his fpv, and they are $6k naked … no lens (shit loads), no battery.

Lenses aren’t wildly expensive - Cooke have a good reputationand are mid-priced:

Of course you will need more than one. And a means of remote focussing and varying the aperture as the lens is manual only.

Professional video kit isn’t cheap!

LOL lenses aren’t expensive! Right …. at the Cooke end but just wait until the d.o.p. decides he needs to rent an antique Panavision custom built using Schott glass and you need to buy insurance coverage to cover the value at a cool £250k. There,s a well known story at Panavision UK where a documentary film crew hired one of these lenses to film a steel foundry. The cameraman got a little too close to the furnace and the hot air contained small amounts of vaporised steel which condensed onto and into the front glass of the lens. The £250k lens was toasted …. literally.
Panavision were not impressed as the glass grade of the front optics was not available so it couldn’t be repaired.
