FRZ zone Edinburgh, how do i get permisson to fly?

Hi I am thinking in droning a place in an Edinburgh FRZ zone, and i am wondering how do i go about getting permisson from Edinburgh Airport to do this? I have included a map, I honestly think i will not get permisson due to how close it is to the airport, but even if i dont, it will be good to know how to apply to get permission in the future. Thanks (the area i have made a white circle around)

Cantvsay for certain how you contact Edinburgh but i believe the info is available in drone scene.
Ive only done this with much smaller aerodromes but i imagine the process is the same, state date and parameters of your flight along with flyer id etc and wait for a response

thanks, i found online i can apply to the airport, but if they gave me a time slot i could do that instead of myself giving a time, do you think it would be ATC (air traffic control) i should phone and ask? or will they be busy telling pilots stuff? I want to do a 360 photo of the new water park at ratho called lost shore surf resort. I have found the ATC phone number with your advice, thanks again

We use Drone scene

Click the link below and the airport and you will get all the info you need

Thanks i have the info, The airport does have a contact/permisson page to fly a drone but you have to give a time, and i was attempting to check flights in and out to pick one, but it would be easier if they said to me you can do such a time, and i can give them all the other information they are asking, which i do not mind, and it is a quick 360 pano shot, and i am flexable to when ever they say i could , but the form they have does not let me put this, If i phoned the ATC, this will not interfere with any live operations with them answering the phones?

If it did they wouldn’t list or answer the phone

Call them

You will probably still have to put your request in writing in an email but you could definitely request they give you a time slot to suit them but i would still say between sun rise and sun set or you may get given midnight

as long as the place is lit up at night, i can do midnight, lol

You will need to give the info to ATC in writing, including your take off time. If approved, they will get you to phone ATC immediately before you take off for clearance, and again as soon as you land.

Generally, even within the FRZ, you’re going to be well clear of inbound/outbound flights. ATC wants the details so they know where and when you’re going to be flying, not so they can add you in to the Stack.

If where you want to fly is somewhere that the planes will actually be then I suspect you’re going to have some challenges getting approval. If not (and your map suggests not) just decide when you want to do the flight and fill in the form. You’ll be surprised how painless it can all be.
