Here is the next challenge & rules set out below from @DodgerFPV kindly please read,

GAPS

Find a gap or gaps to fly through (use you’re imagination) find as many as you like in different locations and string them all together if you wish but please try to keep the video under 3mins
Here’s a quick example

Now get out there have a bit of fun and let’s hit some gaps !

#1 You the pilot should share a continuous video of this challenge (not a snipped and joined video),
#2 please kindly state at the top of your entry ( this is my entry ) with time date & location, locations,
#3 please state the aircraft/Fpv used,
#4 upload your video via YouTube or Vimeo, if at anytime you would like to change your entry please delete the old one & post the new one, also feel free to add anything with your entry that maybe of interest,

In the “ hopefully unlikely “ event of dispute the original footage maybe required, failure to do so may result in your entry being withdrawn !

This is your challenge so feel free to chat, bant, rant as much as you like or help each other if where when needed but please try to keep it on topic, the rules are very simple as above & below, I look forward to your entries enjoy.
If your new to the challenges you can see what goes on Here

Just to add you can disregard rule number 1 in this challenge, as you may end up flying in more than one location so you may want, need to join your clips together.

All flights carried out are the sole responsibility of the flyer as per the drone code & any permissions that maybe needed, enjoy & may the force be with you ! :slightly_smiling_face:

This is my entry, 0800 29/10/25 Chorley
Flywoo Firefly 18 frame, Betafpv 1102 18k, DJIO4 lite.

I was having a bit of a rip at work so I might as well post some gaps.

Oh mate, I’m flabergasted
I’m guessing the 8 ball challenge was too easy for you?

Can me and @LE60LAD have our own Challenge please? I’d still come last though…

Awesome, thanks for posting that.

Now now Ian - the fig 8 was not crazy difficult and defiantly one you could master with a little bit of practice.

I have not used a sim in many months nor have I flown manual on the Avata in as many months too but an hour or so I was getting to grips with the flow on the fig of 8’s and my skills and confidence was growing massively. That’s the whole point of these types of challenges to help give people a goal to better themselves - push the boundaries of skills and take you a little out of your comfort zone - it would not be a challenge if it didn’t do that !

I for one are very much open and up for the gap challenge - just need to find some time - some open ground with something to fly under ( I have an idea for place and a park bench to fly under - just need the weather and time to be on my side ! )

You got this Ian - take it slowly and build from there - no need for a second challenge

I have a string of ideas too, and have actually begun. And am enjoying it.
Not a patch on the above though, but it was great to see such skills displayed.
More to come from others too - bring it on!
Thanks for the pep talk :+1:

@dodgerfpv It certainly helps, but squeezing open props through tight gaps still feels a bit sketchy in real life lol

This is my Entry
I used my Neo for this, over a couple of sessions on 30th October and 1st November, beginning with the biggest gap possible and slowly decreasing to a more reasonable gappy size! No locals (or dogs) were harmed on this green in Statfold Lane, Fradley.

Had a go today at doing this - MAN THIS IS HARD haha - sure its easy to fly a gap over a meter wide but I am trying just a few inches wider than the drone ( the OG Avata) and yup can do it in normal mode but that defeats the object of this challenge - manual AAAAGH - think its time for some more sim time I think

Need some spares now for the Avata - bent a prop and the prop guard is a little out of shape too haha

Keep them coming guys as I need encouragement and seeing your efforts is spurring me along !

Get your spares, and some spare spares, and try and fit in a few flights - you will likely get plenty of usable video just in case you get tight for time.

I pictured you at the Chase flying through the woods. :leafless_tree: :deciduous_tree: :deer:
I might have a look at where I could do that from my car, I doubt the woods are wheelchair friendly.

Was not at Cannock Chase but was trying to fly the gap between two branches of a tree. We crashed a few times haha

Parts for the OG Avata are becoming a bit tricky to get hold off. The prop guard was hard to find in stock in the UK but I should have one next week. OEM props are also getting to be a problem and the master Airscrew ones are quite brittle :man_facepalming:

Would you consider a 3d printed one, if I can locate one?

There are some carbon frame mods for the Avata so there are options out there.

If you get stuck giz a shout got loads of spare parts
from my Avata days

Love the moor park sign. Great flying some neat gaps.

This is my entry. About half 12 this afternoon (13/11) in my kitchen. BetaFPV Air65 in acro.

Used my kids’ ‘toddler tower’ which has a few different shaped gaps. They get progressively smaller and more difficult! Took about 10 attempts to get all of them cleanly in one go!

If I only had some decent weather, a high-rise building site and a working (invincible) drone I might be able to put something together.

As it is, I got a bit weary of everything needing fixing all the time and I’ve not done any droning since BM25.2. I just booted up LiftOff to see if I could still do it.

Hoping to develop some enthusiasm come spring and (hopefully) better weather.

As I’m sure now’s a time where most are quite busy & the weather hasn’t helped either, let us know your thoughts down below if you like, thanks !
