Gardenstown - Added to Coastal Scenery in Gardenstown and King Edward, Scotland

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Gardenstown is one of a series of villages along the north coast of Aberdeenshire, all characterised by a spectacular and precipitous drive down to the shoreline, and picturesque homes along the seafront.

I used the signed free car park to the east of the harbour. If you choose to park at the west end of the seafront, the roadway is often very narrow and has an unshielded steep drop to the seaward edge. It's especially hard to reverse along safely if you meet a vehicle coming the other way, so I'd recommend not going that way.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 04/04/2026. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location. Landowner permission may be required before taking off.

Banff and Buckie

Is this a comment on it being (previously) in Banff and Buchan? Gardenstown has been in Aberdeenshire for three decades now.

Last time I was up there was the 80’s when it was B&B

It was still that when I used to live in the area as well :-).
