Good2Go but not Good2See

Hello all

Short-time forum member, but an established drone “pilot” and one who enjoys helping out with questions ranging from “what colour is the sky” all the way through to legislation via other social channels and even YouTube.

Now, the reason I’m writing this post is not as an introduction, it’s more out of frustration. I get the daily digest emails and just this week I’ve seen two, maybe three topics regarding Remote ID and the changes due to take effect on 01/01/2026. From what I recall, each topic was answered but the answer was to go and check Good2Go - which is fine, except not every member is silver or gold - including me.

As forum posts will be picked up by Google and inevitably people searching the forum directly, how about as well as suggesting Good2Go, the answers are also written in the replies, otherwise the topic is asked, answered with a tool that’s not available to everyone, and thus the answers are not available to everyone who would like them.

Is that an appropriate suggestion?

The outcome / result that Good 2 Go provides is entirely dependent on how the original poster answers each of the questions around their drone weight, class, any certifications they may hold, planned separation distances for the intended flight, urban / built-up areas, and so on.

Each result is tailored to the personal and specific set of conditions the OP enters.

You could always ask the OP what their results were – they may be happy to share them.

It’s not really me I’m thinking of; I know the regs thoroughly enough to consult on them occasionally - it’s more the visibility to other people. Otherwise, you’re just going to get post after post after post of the same drone specs being queried, and that person being told to use the tool (which I’m sure is absolutely wonderful) but nobody else ever gets to see the answer. Which leads to another post. And another.
