There is a really good deal on the Affinity suite at the moment.
50% off, making Affinity Photo 2 available for a ONE OFF fee of £33.99 (down from £67.99), or the iPad version is only £8.99 (down from £17.99). I think this is a great offer for those of us who do not want to pay a monthly/ yearly subscription (to Adobe!!)
There is also the option of a 6-months free trial, so a good opportunity to try it out, and as long as you buy before the end of the offer (15th August) you get a good price.
I’m very tempted!

@BudgieUK I have not used photoshop for years. I use Affinity photo 2 most of the time. it works well. I have recently downloaded the 6 month free trial of “designer” & “publisher” haven’t tried them out yet though.

I have been watching a few of the online tutorials on YouTube… it does seem a very comprehensive product, and it’s got quite a learning curve, but at 50% off, I’m very tempted to take the plunge.
Even when Affinity has been full price it still beats the pants off Photoshop.
I moved across to using the Affinity Suite as soon as it came out about 8 years ago as was totally fed up with Photoshop being sluggish and have never looked back.
Affinity Photo does everything I could ever want it to do and I do full on photomanipulation work with it.
Only thing it doesn’t have of course is AI to allow you to create images which I really hope they never add.
I can safely say I’ve not missed using PS even once since moving across. Affinity got their apps right from day one!!
That’s great feedback. I intend to have a play with Affinity Photo for a few weeks, and if I can get to grip with it, I will take the 50% off deal
It’s definitely worthwhile sticking at it with Affinity even if not just for the price alone.
I’ve been doing professional graphics work for many many years now and started with Photoshop (one of the earliest versions) so have a really good understanding of how to work in these applications and whilst there are slightly different ways of doing things in each app it only took me at most a couple of hours to get to grips as it were with Affinity.
I’ve never looked back and will never ever go back to Photoshop. Wouldn’t do even if they paid me to!!
