What, with the challenge closing in three minutes and various other threads all vying for attention?
No problem at all ![]()
Here are the contenders for best photos from the Birthday Challenge. Although the emphasis was on clarity and finding objects rather than aesthetics, there were some great pictures produced - vote for your favourite three by 22:00 on Monday September 15th to determine the winners
You know what us “old folks & modern technology are like”, I’m surprised I can even still drive a car. Though don’t ask me to work on one. ![]()
I presume the usual “Be a good egg and don’t vote for your own” rule applies

This year’s Challenge has been so civilised (apart from that @macspite unpleasantness) that we assumed that competitors would naturally vote for entries other than their own.
Especially as once the poll closes little avatars appear under each picture to show who voted for what ![]()
The winners of the Grey Arrows Drone Club 8th Birthday Challenge and Treasure Hunt are:
In third place, first time contestant (and a fairly new member of the club who joined half way through the competition!) Jennifer Mason @TheLittleRedJen with a picture of Exeter Quay with a half painted boat at the quayside
In second place was the person who came second in the main part of the competition Jason @Acedrone with an image of Leicester student accommodation The Summit at sundown
Our first-placed winner, who must be getting a little swell headed by now is the first-placed winner of the Challenge Joe @JoeC with a very blue pano of Loch Lomond at nine o’clock on a summer’s evening.
Congratulations to the three of them!
And that wraps up this year’s Birthday Challenge - but don’t forget the RTF Photo Challenge runs all year round ![]()
Thank you very much! And congratulations to my fellow competitors
Congratulations, some stunning pictures there.
My word! Thank you everybody, very chuffed

Huge thanks again to @Challenges_Committee for running the challenge this year (especially given it very nearly didn’t happen). Hopefully the shorter subject list and slightly less formal approach worked okay for you ![]()
Weren’t there just. After I somehow narrowed my shortlist down to 6 photos, boy did I then struggle to choose only 3.
Very well done everyone.
