Grogu visits Loch Doon (on a DJI Avata 360)

Just for giggles…

What happens if you stick a tiny Grogu on the back of your 360º drone?

He gets to take his Hover Pram for a flight around an 800 year old castle in Scotland!

The pram seems to suffer from loads of jitters - needs some pids tuning work :innocent: :joy:

Cut him some slack, it’s not his fault he’s a bad pilot… he’s just a baby!

Brilliant @JoeC .

I couldn’t stop smiling all the way through.

Just the sort of creative stuff I knew people would come up with :+1:

Bring on his hyperlapse soiree.

@JoeC 360 version ?

Nope  The closest focusing distance on the Avata 360 is 1.5m. That wee man is about 10cm from the lens!

It’s taken me since Monday to figure out enough about power windows and tracking in DaVinci Resolve to be able to boost the sharpness on him for this video - I’m not doing it all again for a 360º one!

Dammit Chris! Even as I clicked Reply on that I was already thinking “but he’s always in the same place for a 360 shot…”

I might have a go

Kudos @JoeC! For the initial creativity, for the execution, and the amount of effort you must have put in in post - just brilliant! It highlights that just because you could do something (produce it in 360°) it doesn’t mean you have to do it - and in fact it’s probably much better for it. It’s just a bit of fun, but it shows what can be done when people think beyond the 360° panos and tiny planets.

It’s not about that at all .

One shot chasing train to it following you.

The active track is what sets this drone head and shoulders above others , reveal into flyover , beach flyby to downward wave shot all in one flight

Post the 360 @JoeC as an experiment

Do Superman next, now that will be good, with a flapping cape if possible

Funny you should say that…

I’d just been thinking the same :joy:

So it turns out that no, even though he’s static on the body of the drone, he does move about in the panorama exported from DJI Studio. Afraid I couldn’t be bothered re-tracking him in Resolve for the sharpening given it’s an unlisted video, so here’s a short 360 straight from DJI Studio.

Interesting how much effort it takes to keep him centred here, given he was tracked in Studio before exporting the panorama.

Isn’t all tracking lost in a 360 export anyway ? I know key frames are

Ah, maybe so. Never done one before… only did this one because you asked  Another thing I’m going to need to get to grips with

What an absolute treat, thank you so much for sharing this video.

Oh Joe this might be my fav thing to do with the Avata 360 - need to get more mini figs or find some I can lose haha

I thought I was done with it… but I seem to have accidentally bought myself Batman (with his wingsuit) and the Green Goblin (on his glider). I’m thinking derelict or industrial for both, maybe at night (though that’s going to depend on how visible they are).
