Gutter and roof survey

I got an email yesterday from the Director of a block of flats in Poole asking me if I could do a survey of the roof and gutters. I have never done any commecial work and don’t think the insurance with the club would cover this sort of work. I am register with the CAA as an operator and flyer but I have not done any other qualifications, so I don’t think I am qualified to do commercial work.

Am I correct in my thinking on this matter? What sort of fee would you charge if you had the required insurance and qualification?

How much is a day of your time worth? £500 quid? A grand? :person_shrugging:t2:

Why what do you need

£500 half day rate.

If you were being honest (cough cough) and losing 30% in tax etc. minus your expenses it’s not too large a figure.

How much would it cost them to inspect it any other way?
How much would it cost to erect scaffolding etc?

Also remember you might have to abandon the survey if the wind gets up, and return another day.

Don’t undersell yourself
