I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:
Nice easy access.
Parking fee payable online only. Less that £2 for the day.
No signage at the location or mention on the councils website prohibiting drones. This is backed up by the FOI request found on Dronescene.
Nice looking pub minutes away.
Around 7 miles out to sea is a wind farm and the old Herne Bay pier head is just under a mile out.
Bonus points for the public toilets in the carpark.
Herne Bay proper is around a 20-30 minute walk away with all the usual seaside fun and games.
Depending on the number of people around this seems to be an ideal article 16 flight area
The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 18/05/2025. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location. Landowner permission may be required before taking off.
