Hardknott Roman Fort, Lake District - April 2025 - AIR3 4K 60fps

An absolutely stunning location, on a day with weather that was almost unbelievable - both of which made up for the drive to get here!

We drove up Wrynose and Hardknott Pass to get here, both roads I can only describe as the most extreme non off-road roads I have ever driven!

The fort is stunning, and the views, from Scafell Pike round to the Isle of Man were amazing, allowing for some pretty cool drone footage with the AIR3…

Love it, a cracking site, going to have to have a revisit now I have the drones, gives you a much better perspective of the place than being earthbound. When I had clients up Whitehaven way I’d go up M6 & via Keswick, cockermouth but return down the west side, usually via Ulpha but occasionally via Hardknot just for the hell of it.:grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

Thanks Phil, we are hoping to start doing the Wainwrights as our fitness is improving, so I am thinking a video for each peak may just have to happen

Brilliant, I love his little hand sketched guide books, a big fan, have them all (though not done all the peaks).

Only done Scafell - and that was 6 years ago and we were totally unprepared and lacking in fitness, but we managed it… The rest of them will be approached with the proper mindset and fitness levels

Thank you, it was from Riffusion, so I used a prompt that seemed to fit my idea, and it came up with this as the first option, so I was happy to use it

Great footage and soundtrack of an amazing site I’d not heard of :+1:t4:. I like the transition you use between shots - it’s quick yet smooth at the same time. Nice touch! :clap:t4::+1:t4:

Thank you, I enjoyed flying there

Thank you, the music was created using Riffusion, and the transitions are standard DaVinci Resolve ones

Superb Suzanne, brilliant as always :clap:

Thanks Alex

Beautiful, excellent video , shows how the use of drones allows others to see these wonderful historic places from a perspective they could never see from the ground.
For this reason alone I fail to see why English Heritage and National Trust object to drones.

Thanks… NTS are fine with drones as long as you contact them in advance, but NT England seem to have some concern that others may make money out of their properties that they seek to control everything - even photography can be problematic… Shame really, they could create an extra revenue stream and receive free publicity from the drone hobbyists, but closed minds and control are their preferred option…

Great video. I’ve been over those passes lots of times on the Motorcycle but have always been concentrating on the road expecting someone to fly around a corner at me. I didn’t know this existed, thanks for sharing.
