I’m new to done flying, bought myself a mini 2 and currently practising when I’ve got the time and the weather is good.
I live just south of Penrith in a village called Clifton.
Really enjoying reading some of the threads and looking into the best places to fly.

Have you seen our members map? (Click the burger-menu in the top right) You may find some pilots living near you.
We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the #questions-and-answers category.

I’m at Center Parcs just near you at the moment, looks like you have some nice areas round here for flying, good for practicing as lots of open areas. Hope you are having fun.
I’m hoping to head out tomorrow to have a look around the Brougham Castle area as it looked interesting with the river running round the area, have you been there with it yet?
I’ve not flown at the castle yet, only had my drone for less than a week. It’s an English Heritage site so I’m not sure on permissions.
I ended up heading out there around 7 today. I took off & landed just beside the bridge where the dead end leads onto the field. Might be restrictions for take off & landing in the castle but nothing stopping you flying over from elsewhere following the drone code.

I live close to you near Lazonby over looking the Eden valley. There are lots of areas to fly around not to far away. My one advice that will be echoed by many on here is practise practice practice.
