hi, old time drone flyer, needs help with Skypixel. Never been much into social sharing apps eg. Facebook, ect. ect. I do occasionally want to share a video or pic from my drone flights, eg. Just being able to send an email with a link so the recipient could just click on it and see my pic, 360 deg, panorama or short video clip. I have no problem uploading it to Skypixel using my phone (with the fly app) or using my PC and the web Skypixel site.
I can see all my uploads myself, but when I click share link, and post it in a email , the recipient reports they get a message “the video is unavailable”
Trying to figure out what’s going wrong. I logged on to my PC and, it appears that some of the files were marked as ‘private’. I thought I’d cracked the problem, and re-plublished with the privacy set to ‘public’. And re posted an email to my friend, but they still say they can’t see my video
Even if I send them a link to my whole Skypixel folder, they can only see a couple of very old 360 deg shots, and none of the new stuff. So What am I doing wrong?
Both ‘public’ links worked fine, the private one just said " currently not available" or something like that. Try sending YOURSELF an email with the link you are trying to share with your friend, and then see if YOU can open it maybe ?
Hi Matt, Yes I already tried sending myself an email with the link to a ‘private file’, and I can see it no problem, it appears to only cause a problem if I send the same link to another person. I think the problem is if I all ready sent them a link which was originally marked as ‘private’, even if I then go into Skypixel and edit the file to mark it as now ‘public’, and re-send them a new email with the new link, there browser cache tries to retrieve the old link, or something like that?
Yes a I have also had problems sharing/enbeding links in e-mails in the past, depending on what e-mail client, browser combination the recipient is using.
Well at least it means you can just send your friend a link to your profile page, and just make the videos you want him to see, public.
You could make them public for an hour, or a day and then turn them private again, or permanently public, whichever suits you ?
Your welcome ! Also, If your friend likes the photos and videos, you COULD point them to GADC. Plenty of great content to browse and they may get bitten by the bug
