Just bought myself an DJI Air 3 with the aim to one day master the craft. I’ve been interested in drones for years, and since flying a Mavic Mini a few years ago, and being a lover of all things tech, I knew I had to get one one day. So here I am, finally!
My aim is to try and master video capture and general flying skills, but also to make some great videos for YouTube to let out my creative side.
I’m based in and around Leeds, excited to find some quiet countryside locations to practice in and one day master the craft.
I have my Operator and Flyer ID’s, so I’m raring to go.
Any recommendations welcome! And if you’re in or around Leeds, let me know

Hello Josh, welcome to Grey Arrows
The AIR3 is an excellent drone, had mine for a couple of months now - have you done your A2CofC yet? You will need that to be able to fly closer to buildings and people - although if you are flying away from folks and buildings it not entirely needed…
Plenty of good folks and help on here, and some good meet ups too
Hi @AlbionDrones! No, I don’t have my A2CofC yet but it’s on the list for the new year. Just planning to get some initial practice around some rural, quiet areas until then .
If you are a paying member then you can get a discount on the exam and training which is worthwhile, and UAV Hub has a good set of video’s for training for free that I used…
TBH most of he time I fly my AIR3 is in rural spots, I also have a MINI3 Pro for closer in and an AVATA for fun
Thats the only trouble with drones, one is never enough
@JoshW There’s a big feild behind our house where i go practise etc, only building there is the Dr’s,but i fly away from that, Although i do have my A2 CofC nobody bothers me
I mainly put the drone in car while i’m out and about, you never know what you
can find of interest, your only up the road from me
I am a member now, but where do I need to go to find/claim this discount? I did try searching this site beforehand, but maybe I’m not looking in the right places. If you could point me towards it that would be appreciated
We are blessed with beautiful countryside surrounding us, and there’s nothing better than having a day out in the Dales on a warm! sunny day. Greetings from Guiseley.
