Hi from Bakewell, Peak National Park

Hi Alan @WooleySheep and welcome from the north west :waving_hand:t2:

You live in a lovely part of the world

Hi @PingSpike, thank you for the welcome. Yes, it is a lovely place, we are very lucky. We moved here 13 years ago as we wanted to get away from town life and move to the country. We live a few miles away from Bakewell itself, but I drive through it every day.

I am very happy , I now have my Operator ID & Flyer ID! yay!

I have upgraded to Gold Membership here, and now need to wait for the drone to be delivered (ETA tomorrow). Next job is to order an ID card (I have an ID card printer at my work, so may see if it is quicker to print my own).

Evening,
Look what was delivered a little over an hour ago.

So excited to get it registered, updated and then start using the simulator. I can’t lie, I am a little turned on right now…

You won’t need a sim

I’m going to use it for a few hours to get my bearings.
Will see how I go.

Erm, think I may have gone too big!

Big tablets are great, provided you can cope with the weight for the full duration of a battery.

I thought the same. I managed to find a grip that fits inside the phone holder area that holds a lanyard. Works well as it takes the weight away from the wrists. I now though need to extend the lanyard as it is just a standard ID card holder lanyard. I will pop on eBay and Amazon and see how much a longer one that is designed for controllers is.

Same setup as you but I’ve fitted a hoodman to help with seeing my screen :desktop_computer:

Can I have a photo please of it. I don’t suppose you have a link as well? Having something to help shade the screen is something that I need to look into.

Not sure how to put photos on the forum site . However I’m at the country show tomorrow can bring my drone with me. Or can share on messager? I think? sorry not that technically minded.

Thank you @jimvfrmoto750 for sharing the photos. I may look at designing something I can 3D print. Something thin and collapsible. Will have to see.
