After a few years of various cheap drones decided to bite the bullet and get the Mavic Air as I had a small bonus from work. I’ve only managed to take it out for the 1 flight so far because it was so windy but can already see how much better it is to everything I had before. Even in beginner mode it was good… I will admit to putting it in sport mode too. That was scary fast in the small quarry.
Got a few hobbies I’d like to use the drone with but mainly Kayaking, Mountain bikes, Motorbikes and hill walking, not sure how it will all work out but should be fun.
If I actually manage to get something other than my fat arse sitting on a log (which is all I got the other day) I’ll post it up to see.
A significant number of our members also own the Mavic Air … so you are amongst good company.
If you haven’t already, take a look at the Map of Members and you’ll see there are a few other members in your neck of the woods, some of whom I’m sure will come and say Hi.
The forum’s search functions are a very efficient way to find previous threads and posts that might already have covered topics in which you are interested in learning more or answer that niggling question but, when this doesn’t turn up what you’re after, there’s a wealth of knowledge amongst the members, so ask away over on #questions-and-answers.
Also, if you’ve not seen it, check out our map of places where members have flown in the past … which, obviously, doesn’t necessarily mean they are still OK to fly and, as always, any pilot needs to check that everything’s OK before flying at any of them.
it is Loch Ore I am looking to try some of the paddling and drone together… I think Longcraig and inverkeithing are too close to airport… but might be wrong…

Thanks for the call out on my “Welcome” page. Meant to reply here, but accidentally placed it in my own page…
My first flights outside my garden were in Braidburn Park, Fairmilehead Park and Colinton Park, but I moved to Braid Hills for my first extended flight. You can see the results in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXAHTNJ9704 , where you will note that I too have a Mavic Air.
