Hi everyone…I’m from Warrenpoint in N.Ireland. Started flying about 2 years ago and really love the buzz you get from this hobby. i have the Mavic air 1 and 2 but have to say the Air 2 is fantastic to fly
Howdy Nimrod welcome.
Might tap into your knowledge on the Air 2
As I have just received mine.
Hi nimrod
Hi Saltydog… good to hear from you… is this your first drone?
From Jim
Hi Power , how’s the flying in your area?
From Jim
Not quite if that makes any sense.
Not long acquired a mini and only a few flights with it, although I was really impressed with it’s capabilities for its size. I seen it’s struggles with wind. So have picked up an Air 2 to compliment the mini, feel the two drones will cover everything I in visage doing.
Hi @Nimrod and welcome to GADC.
Welcome @Nimrod from Bangor. We need some more NI locations added to Drone Scene - where can I fly my drone in the UK?. I can’t do it all on my own
Hi Jim its not good at the moment. Had 15 mins flight time since I bought it lol .but like they say best wait for the good weather rather than not have a drone to fly .happy flying jim
You have Kilkeel green castle cranfield Newcastle annalong Newcastle mourne mountains spelga dam would look amazing and silent valley just to name a few.
@Power That’s 15 mins more than me. I’ve had my Mini 2 for a fortnight and it hasn’t been flown yet due to torrential rain/high winds/ freezing fog mist/lockdown, still, I’m looking forward to getting out with it locally within the next few days. The unsuitable conditions can’t last forever.
Slippery slope man…
You’ll soon find you need a Mavic Pro to compliment the Air.
Then not long after than you’ll realise a Phantom 4 Pro is needed in order to compliment the MP.
Then it turns out that the P4 has to be complemented by an Inspire.
Now fuck me if the Inspire doesn’t need a Matrice to keep it company ![]()
It never ends ![]()
Yeah I’ve fallen in a few rabbit holes in my time and the Drone rabbit looks deep
The journey is all part of the fun
Provided you don’t bankrupt yourself on the way
Hi mate…glad to hear that there is another pilot in N Ireland…I will be adding new locations as here in Carlingford Lough where I live is really beautiful…have you ever tried the Silent Valley for some amazing footage?
From Jim
The Wing Commander (wife) is my spotter and she is really good at it…
